Survey form Filling Method Case study
2
One Science Subject Students wishing to take one elective subject in the Science Education KLA can take any one of the following subjects: 1.Combined Science (Physics, Chemistry) 2.Combined Science (Biology, Physics) 3.Combined Science (Chemistry, Biology) 4.Physics 5.Chemistry 6.Biology
3
Two Science Subjects Students wishing to take two elective subjects in the Science Education KLA are recommended to take the following combinations: 1.Combined Science (Physics, Chemistry) + Biology 2.Combined Science (Biology, Physics) + Chemistry 3.Combined Science (Chemistry, Biology) + Physics
4
Three Science Subjects If students are very interested in Science and would like to take three elective subjects in the Science Education KLA, she can take: Physics + Chemistry + Biology
5
Case I: Student A She would like to take 3 non-science subjects as her electives In Part 3, just indicate her order of preference (from 1st to 10th) which should NOT include “Two Science Subjects” Leave Part 4 empty
6
Case II: Student B She would like to take 2 non-science subjects and 1 science subject as her electives In Part 3, just indicate her order of preference (from 1st to 10th) which should not include “Two Science Subjects” Leave Part 4 empty
7
Case III: Student C She would like to take 2 science subjects and 1 non-science subject as her electives In Part 3, she should prioritize “Two Science Subjects” as her first priority and then other subjects according to the order of preference (from 2nd to 10th). Need to fill in Part 4
8
Special Consideration In case any one of the selected two science subjects is full, she cannot get the offer.
9
Example If student has chosen Combined Science (Phy + Chem) + Biology She can get the offer and two subjects will be assigned to her. P+CC+BP+BPhyChemBio Full
10
Example If student has chosen Combined Science (Phy + Chem) + Biology She cannot get any offer and no subject will be assigned to her. Computer will check the availability of the next priority P+CC+BP+BPhyChemBio Full
11
Example If student has chosen Combined Science (Phy + Chem) + Biology She cannot get any offer and no subject will be assigned to her. Computer will check the availability of the next priority P+CC+BP+BPhyChemBio Full
12
Student C (2 or 0) If she is only interested in taking 2 science subjects and WILL NOT consider just taking one science subject: She should fill in her order of preference in Part 4 but leave all single science subject in Part 4 empty.
13
Student C (2 or 1) If she is interested in taking 2 science subjects and will consider just taking one science subject if any one of the selected two science subjects is full: She should fill in Part 4 according to her order of preference.
14
Case IV: Student D She would like to take 3 science subjects as her electives Method 1: She should prioritize “Two Science Subjects” as her first priority and then another science subject as her second priority. Need to fill in Part 4
15
Case IV: Student D She would like to take 3 science subjects as her electives Method 2: She should prioritize one science subject as her first priority and then “Two Science Subjects” as her second priority. Need to fill in Part 4
16
Example (Method 1) If student D1 has chosen 1st: Phy + Chem2nd: Biology PhyChemBio 1st round 2nd round PhyChemBio She can get Phy + Chem + Bio
17
Example (Method 1) If student D1 has chosen 1st: Phy + Chem2nd: Biology PhyChemBio 1st round 2nd round PhyChemBio Full She can get Phy + Chem + Bio
18
Example (Method 1) If student D1 has chosen 1st: Phy + Chem2nd: Biology PhyChemBio 1st round 2nd round PhyChemBio Full She can only get Phy + Chem
19
Example (Method 2) If student D2 has chosen 1st: Biology 2nd: Phy + Chem PhyChemBio 1st round 2nd round PhyChemBio She can get Phy + Chem + Bio
20
Example (Method 2) If student D2 has chosen 1st: Biology 2nd: Phy + Chem PhyChemBio 1st round 2nd round PhyChemBio Full She can get Phy + Chem + Bio
21
Example (Method 2) If student D2 has chosen 1st: Biology 2nd: Phy + Chem PhyChemBio 1st round 2nd round PhyChemBioP+C Full She can get Bio + Combined Science (Physics + Chemistry)
22
Example (Method 2) If student D2 has chosen 1st: Biology 2nd: Phy + Chem PhyChemBio 1st round 2nd round PhyChemBioP+C Full She can only get Bio
23
How to fill in the form? Base on: Interest, ability, career prospect to set the priority Other factors: Your assumptions + Strategies
