Graded work Writing Assignments 40% of grade Tests/ Projects/Presentations 20% of grade Participation 10% Homework and Classwork 15% Notebook and Binder 15% Scale is 100-90%= A 89-80=B 79-70=C 69-60= D Below 59%=F

Reading Reading a novel can be difficult for some students Use Sparknotes or Cliffsnotes Arrange Reading and quiet time in the home Ability increases quickly with practice.

Classroom Policy and Rules In seat on time No Food or Drink. Water is an exception No Cross talking, listen to others who are speaking No Profanity, no insults, no teasing (ed.code) Be prepared, turn in work on time Be polite to teacher and students

Absences Clear Absences through attendance office Only illness, appointments, funeral, and court are excused absences Unexcused absences can disqualify students from school activities Unexcused absences leave students without the option to make up missed work
