Why I Chose My Topic Budget changes caused my Dad to lose his job; I wanted to explore decisions politicians make about budgeting and finance, and how term limits might affect decisions they make.

Research Term limit- statutory limitation on the number of terms an elected official can serve Became a national issue in late 1980s and early 1990s September 1990- Oklahoma set term limits on state legislature November 1990- Colorado followed suit 1995- 21 states approved term limits

Research Should term limits be set? Yes! 71% of people that participated in a telephone survey support term limits. Three interviewees agree- term limits would prevent elected officials from thinking they own the office. Must be a break from their real job
