The Teachings of the Buddha: The Story of Kisa We will be: Looking at the story of Kisa Gotami and the lesson the Buddha was trying to teach her You will be able to: Explain the story of Kisa Explain the source of Kisa’s suffering Explain what the Buddha was trying to teach her

The Teachings of the Buddha: The 2 nd Noble Truth We will be: Considering the Buddha’s second noble truth and how it applies to our own lives You will be able to: State the 2 nd Noble Truth Describe the effects of advertising on people Explain your own opinion on the importance of material goods and money for happiness

The Buddha’s Third Noble Truth and the Wheel of Life We will be: Looking the wheel of life and the 3 Poisons at its centre You will be able to: State the third noble truth Describe the wheel of life and state the 3 poisons Explain how the three poisons affect our behaviour and give an example for each one

The Fourth Noble Truth: The Noble Eight Fold Path We will be: Considering the Noble Eight Fold Path as a way of life and how it serves as a path to enlightenment You will be able to; Explain what the Noble Eight Fold Path is for a Buddhist Describe 2 stages of the path Explain one way in which King Ashoka was changed by the Dharma

Buddhist Morality We will be: Considering The Five Precepts and the effect following them has on behaviour You will be able to: State at least 3 precepts Explain one benefit of following the Five Precepts Explain how living by the precepts would change our behaviour

Meditation You will be: participating in a meditation session and looking at the benefits for the individual You will be able to: Participate in at least 5 mins of meditation Explain how meditation can be of benefit Describe what is involved in one form of meditation
