Major Concept #3 Students will learn that the American Revolution was both a revolution and a civil war.

Major Concept #4 Students will learn that Americans Loyalists fled to Canada and Nova Scotia (leading to the creation of two new colonies, e.g. Upper Canada and New Brunswick).

Major Concept #5 Students will learn that Britain believed the reason the Thirteen Colonies rebelled was because it had too much freedom; therefore, Britain established a non-democratic colonial government in Canada to prevent a repeat of 1776.
