Week 15 Monday, 12/1/14 Entry Tasks: 1. Turn in your Book of the Month paper in the tray in the back. 2. Turn in your book to the circulation desk. 3. Take out your flashcards and write down the words and definitions for all 10 words on your entry task for list 4. Learning Objective: Students will be able to use library resources to enhance learning.

Week 15 Tuesday, 12/2/14 Entry Tasks: 1. Put your book and flashcards on your desk. 2. Write your name on your flashcards. 3. In one sentence, explain what you think will happen in the book you got yesterday. Include title and author. Learning Objective: Students will be able to activate prior knowledge of Mexico, Pearls, and John Steinbeck.

Week 15 Wednesday, 12/3/14 Entry Tasks: 1. Put your book and 40 flashcards on your desk. 2. Get out your Pearl packet and turn to page 3. Read through the 6 themes at the bottom. On your Entry Task, write down the theme that connects to “The Landlady” and explain why it connects in one sentence. Learning Objective: Students will be able apply literature term knowledge to The Pearl.

Week 15 Thursday, 12/4/14 Entry Tasks: 1. Put your book and 40 flashcards on your desk. 2. Take out your Pearl packet and turn it to page 3. Pick another theme that relates to chapter 1 of The Pearl. Explain why it connects in one sentence. You do not need a quote. Learning Objective: Students will be able to apply literature term knowledge to a story.

Week 15 Friday, 12/5/14 Entry Tasks: 1. Put your book and 40 flashcards on your desk. 2. How is the Taylor Swift song “Our Song” related to the songs in The Pearl. Learning Objective: Students will be able to apply literature term knowledge to The Pearl.
