Introductions Barbara Mauntel- Pre Algebra and Pre/Linear Algebra (Combo Class) BS Degree in Accounting from ASU MA Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from ASU Married – 2 adult children who both just graduated from ASU! Classroom Expectations Follow the 3Ps -Prepared: -Binder (Textbook) -Pencil -Calculator (7th required) -Homework - Performing: - Active participation - Work completion/Show work - Polite: - Follow Group Norms - Follow directions first time given! - Respect everyone

Grading -90% Assessment -10% Practice - You will see 2-3 Unit tests per quarter = 90% - You may see some quizzes before each Unit Test - Practice work recorded = 10%

4 Point Grading Scale 4.0 Scale will be entered and averaged for a final grade. Example: Tests for Quarter 1: Standard A: 3 Standard B: 3.5 Standard C: 2.5 AVERAGE: 3.0 GRADE: A-

Assessments -Standards based grading -4 point scale -As a grade level we create common quizzes and tests for consistency

Homework -Homework created together -Homework is practice for TESTS! -If your child needs help with homework: -Learning Lab -Lunch Bunch -Resources on websites and calendars
