1
Uniform circular motion is the motion of an object traveling at a constant speed on a circular path. Uniform Circular Motion
2
Let T be the time it takes for the object to travel once around the circle. Uniform Circular Motion
3
The wheel of a car has a radius of 0.29m and it being rotated at 830 revolutions per minute on a tire-balancing machine. Determine the speed at which the outer edge of the wheel is moving. A Tire Balancing Machine
4
Centripetal Acceleration An object tied to a string revolving in a circle under the influence of a constant inward tug. The object is continuously accelerated toward the center of the circle. If the string breaks the object flies off tangentially.
5
The direction of the centripetal acceleration is towards the center of the circle; in the same direction as the change in velocity. Centripetal Acceleration
6
The Law of Universal Gravitation Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation states that every object in the universe attracts every other object with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the centers of the objects. Gravitational Constant, G = 6.67259* 10 -11 N. m 2 / kg 2
