HOW TO WRITE A REPORT
2
There are four phases which provide a systematic approach to the writing process:
Think Plan Write Revise
3
Prepare an outline for your report. This should include:
An introduction Middle or body section with headings, detailing your research, ideas and discussion. Keep this at about 3 to 5 different topics--at the most. A summary and/or conclusion. A summary is a retelling of what you have reported on; a conclusion draws together your feelings or arguments about the topic to reach your final point of view.
4
HOW TO DO IT Brainstorm the topic. Write down all information you can think of relating to the question in hand, to back any points or arguments you want to make. Write a rough draft. Proofread it and mark your errors clearly. Errors are not only spelling and grammar but also jumbled ideas and missing points. Rewrite your report. While writing, assume that your reader knows little to nothing about the subject.
5
GRAMMAR Generally uses passive voice: This is to show that the results are objective e.g. Many places of interest in the city centre were visited in the last four weeks. Generally uses past tense. This is because the data was “collected” in the past, before the report was written. Linking words, the purpose of which is to make the text more fluent. Examples: additionally, also, further, furthermore, in addition to, however, moreover.
6
THE TITLE Useful expressios for the title: The Title; 'A Report on ....‘ 'An Investigation into...‘ An Analysis of ...‘ 'A Comparison of ... and ...' Register This section should be formal. Like most formal business writing, it should be clear, concise, and correct.

Places to visit in Barcelona
There are many places in the area which are worth recommending but unfortunately some of them are open to public only in summer peak season. However, there are two attractions that may be taken into consideration as they seem suitable for you: 1. The Dungeon is a very popular tourist attraction in the city centre. It is a former jail tower from the 17th century. Today you can visit the prisoners' cells and see there a great collection of arms from previous centuries.
16
2. The Labyrinth This is the place where you can have a lot fun. There is a number of dead-end corridors and some leading to the exit. You are supposed to find the way out in a given time. The place is open on weekends and there are considerable discounts for large groups. Conclusion: I would not hesitate to recommend both of these places to your group. These attractions are well-known and popular among foreign visitors.
