Children’s Chat A Medical Model of a Heart:
3
Heart Facts: Your system of blood vessels - arteries, veins and capillaries - is over 96,000 kilometers long. That's long enough to go around the world more than twice! The adult heart pumps about 5 liters of blood each minute - approximately 8,000 liters of blood each day - throughout the body.
4
Heart Facts: The heart beats about 100,000 times each day and in a 70-year lifetime, the average human heart beats more than 2.5 billion times A child's heart is about the size of a clenched fist; an adult's heart is about the size of two fists.
5
Heart Facts: Blood is about 78 percent water and it takes about 20 seconds to circulate throughout the entire vascular system.
6
What Does It Mean? “He really puts his heart into …” “She has a heart for…” Our eyes help us to see needs and our heart helps us meet needs. When you see that someone needs help, like chores at home or helping at school, do you help because you have to or because you want to? Does it matter?
7
How About You? Just 3 More Questions: Where do you think your heart will lead you? What do you love to do and how do you think you will help others in the future? What would you say Jesus had a passion for?
8
What Do You Think? What would you say Jesus had a passion for? What was the heart of his message and the heart of his life? Today we will consider 4 things that Jesus had a passion for and how His passion impacted His ministry.
9
Jesus Had A Passion for His Father John 6:38-40 (Page 1657) For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
10
True in You? Because of this his heart was filled with what God wanted for his life. Is your love for God at the center of your heart? How does your love for God show up in your priorities and actions? How does your love for God show when you help others?
11
Jesus Had a Passion for the Lost Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost."
12
Lost Sheep, Lost Coin, Lost Son Luke 15:1-31 (Page 1623) Verses 1-7 Verses 8-10

Lost Sheep, Lost Coin, Lost Son Luke 15:1-31 (Page 1623)
14
The Turning Point Luke 15:20 begins with… “So he got up and went to his father.” The father even refers to his son being dead and now alive; he was lost and is now found (vs 32).
15
Your Passion for the Lost: Do you have the same passion? Who has God placed in your life so that you could show them the love of God and help them realize that they are lost and how much God loves them by caring for them and being helpful? How does your passion translate into helpful actions?
16
Jesus Had a Passion for His Friends John 17:6-19 (Page 1680) Verse 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name--the name you gave me--so that they may be one as we are one.
17
Having a Heart for Ministry People do not often care how much you know until they know how much you care. Ministry shows that we care!
18
Jesus Had a Passion for Those Who Would Follow John 17:20-26 (Page 1680) JN 17:20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, … 23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
19
How About You? What do you have a passion for? What is at the center of your heart? How does that passion enable you for ministry? To whom has God called you to serve in His name with His power for His glory and the growth of the kingdom?
