3 POC: Sandra Rapp, New York State DOT work 607-324- 8527 srapp@dot.state.ny.ussrapp@dot.state.ny.us RRD/Derrick Tasks: * Performed a fluvial geomorphology analysis * Developed alternative designs, developed the final design * Reviewed Plans & Specs, many discussions with DOT hydraulic engineers!! * Provided construction oversight & taught a hands-on workshop to 88 of NYS DOT’s finest

4 Stream Project Functions: Fully functioning both hydraulically & environmentally. Multiple protection redundancy. LPSTP provides direct armor protection. Bendway Weirs Locked Logs, & J- Hook move scour & thalweg away from attacked bank, with velocities reduced on outer bank. Vegetation roughness reduces near-bank flow velocities & provides a functioning riparian corridor. Roots strengthen bank & bind soil. Grade Control structure stops upstream headcut migration.
