4 Ice Breaker  Think of a number between 1 and 10 (don’t tell anyone)  Multiply by 9  If resulting number has 2 digits add them together  Take 5 away from this number  Transfer your answer in figures to letters, so 1=A, 2=B, 3=C and so on  Think of a country beginning with that letter  Think of an animal beginning with the second letter of that country’s name. 4

6 Examples of CPD activity:  External conferences and courses  Internal courses and CPD events  Coaching and mentoring, shadowing and peer support  Participating in networks or projects providing opportunities for CPD  Discussions with colleagues / pupils to reflect on work practices  Research and investigation 6

7 3 minutes -Paired Activity :  Find a partner. One of you will be A and the other B  What kind of staff development have you encountered?  What are your CPD needs? 7

8 Paired Activity:  Ask questions to help formulate an action plan.  Involve open questioning that helps to facilitate thought.  Quickly draw a model to represent your action plan. 8
