Thesis Statement DaDa is an art movement more focused on the protest of World War I, than the artwork it produced.

Why Zurich? Zurich was a neutral territory during the war.
They were able to create their art in a space known for its political neutrality.

Why Zurich? Zurich’s Physical characteristics:
- Sits on the River Limmat - River Limmat flows to Lake Zurich - Is surrounded by forests and hills Zurich’s Districts: -There are 12 Districts, each with 1-4 neighborhoods in them -District 7 has the wealthiest people in Switzerland. -District 5 is a former industrial area rezoned to create modern housing ad commercial real-estate. -45.5% of all the districts are residential, 15.5% are transportation, infrastructure, and commercial, 26.5% is forest, 11% is agriculture, and 1.2% of the districts is water.

DaDa’s Influence DaDa directly influenced Surrealism and its artists.
Lead to the Surrealists love of fantasy and expression of the imagery. The concept of ready-mades became widespread
