6. Unintentional injury remains the #1 killer of children age 14 and under in the U.S. Unintentional injury kills more children than all other childhood diseases combined Each year in the U.S., 9,000 families lose a child because of a preventable injury 90% of these injuries could be prevented!

8. "Every 4 seconds, a child is treated for an injury in the emergency department, and every hour, a child dies as a result of an injury." Sponsor a bicycle rodeo, child safety fair or child safety seat inspection event Purchase and distribute bicycle helmets, child safety seats, electric outlet covers, choke tubes, etc. Sponsor an “April Pool Day” event Educate parents about common dangers found around the home Distribute dolls to children’s hospitals or provide teddy bears to first responders to comfort children What else???
