Disclosure database workflow Company calculates data and completes disclosure template Company uploads both documents to system Data from all company templates matched to individual HCPs and HCOs Company writes method- ological note System notifies HCPs and HCOs that payment data has been received. HCP/HCO can log in and view data. Data goes live on system 4 HCP/HCO queries routed back to company for resolution Public incl HCP/HCO can view live data. 31 March 16 28 day HCP checking period By 1 July 16 May16 Data live for 3 years

Process for customer queries 5 Company contacts HCP/ HCO and able to resolve the issue within 14 days Database updated with correct data ABPI moves queried record/s into relevant company’s aggregate pot(s) after 14 days ABPI sends relevant company/ies an e-mail with customer message and contact details Company contacts HCP/HCO but resolution takes longer than 14 days Company notifies ABPI of correct figures by e-mail HCP/HCO raises a query through the system Change of HCP consent Query about the figures Company resolves query HCP/ HCO receives update confirm- ation 14 days resolution >14 days resolution

Company interaction with central database Companies will need to: –Sign a data sharing agreement with the ABPI in order to use the database –Nominate individuals to take responsibility for company interaction with the central database – at both senior level and day-to-day –Have an email address for central platform queries which is manned during working hours –Put in place a resolution process for HCP queries – both before and after go-live –Put in place a process for resolving changes in HCP consent status – both before and after go-live 6

2013 ESHLSG Survey Of the over 1,000 HCPs surveyed in 2013: 10 77% were in favour of individual named disclosure. 79% were in favour of a central public database. 89% agreed that payments should be transparent. 70% thought disclosure would have no impact on their relationship with industry Reference: Sophie Arie BMJ 2013;347:f6093 (Published 9 October 2013)
