SCS S TRATEGIC C ITY S OLUTIONS  In 2013, the FBI announced a change in the definition of rape used in the UCR  Data collection under the new definition began in January 2013; however, data reported from prior years has not been revised  Not all agencies have been able to report for 2014 using the new definition.  The FBI has determined the change may produce an increase of as much as 41.7% in an agencies reported sex offenses.
