12 Postcopulatory Behavior Refractory period – length of time before a second ejaculation can occur – Influenced by: sexual rest, age, species, female novelty, number of previous ejaculations Satiation – further stimuli will not cause immediate responsiveness Exhaustion – no further sexual behavior can be induced
