The versions of any post office that the IA will access on behalf of POP3 or IMAP4 clients must be equal to or newer than the IA's version. A post offices version is determined by the POA version running against it. The GWIA install installs the agent to /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/bin

If you will use the IA for POP3 and IMAP4 mail, make sure no POP3 or IMAP4 daemons are running on the Linux server.
