Lord of the Flies has been called an allegory in which the characters are symbols for abstract ideas. Explain this statement by analyzing each of the major characters (Ralph, Jack, Piggy, Simon, and Roger) in terms of his distinctive character traits and the human quality he might symbolize. Base this analysis off of what you have read so far, and use text examples to support your ideas. Be sure to have an introduction, body, and conclusion for full credit. 100+

Each member of the group then must complete the following: in one lens, illustrate what Piggy actually sees; for the other, illustrate the symbolic meaning of the first lens.
You will have to be somewhat creative in your illustrations for the symbolism.
Be sure to label which lens is which.
