Problem: Oral administration and accommodations for local assessments Staffing/logistic concerns for administration Potential lack of standardization of administration conditions between students and between administrators Lack of opportunities for students to receive accommodations and practice using tools in systems similar to STAAR online administrations Insufficient data available to make appropriate assessment decisions for students eligible for SOA, STAAR A, and STAAR L

Caveat Simulation mimics some attributes of state online testing All accommodations available in STAAR assessments are NOT included STAAR SOA STAAR A STAAR L Caution should be exercised when including accommodations within the test environment

Moving forward Templates will be made available through secure folders for campus use with common assessments Training will be provided as needed – likely via webinar C&I departments will work toward providing oral administration tests for some CBAs in May Plans for district-developed OAs for CBAs will be considered by Assessment Council and possibly incorporated into the CBA development schedule for 2016-2017
