Sainte Chapelle Sainte Chapelle was built in 1246, and completely finished in 1248. When built, it was decided to be called Sainte Chapelle, which means “Holy Chapel” in English.

Sainte Chapelle Sainte Chapelle was built by King Louis IX for his passion relics like the Crown of Thorns. Saint Chapelle is located within the Palais de Justice complex in Paris.

Sainte Chapelle The stained glass in the Eastern Apse tell stories from the New Testament. The next ten windows tells stories from the Old Testament. Sainte Chapelle was severely damaged during the French Revolution. Afterwards, the steeple was removed.
