Why give the SBAC Interim (IAB) The opportunity for teachers and students to practice using the SBAC online interface in a low-stakes environment The opportunity to practice administering the SBAC and deciding which designated supports work best for IEP/EL students in preparation for the Summative SBAC. An opportunity to understand how SBAC questions are designed and see how their students scores, which may aid in instructional decisions. 3

IAB Features Available online for ELA and Math for grades 3–8 and High School. Teachers can pick and choose sections regardless of grade. Fixed form (i.e., computer-based, not computer-adaptive). The questions do not “adapt" regardless of answers given or # of times the test is administered. Results are collected and reported locally, not to the state Test settings are changeable These are to be recorded and reported to the Test Site Coordinator before the Summative window opens. 4

Use of Accessibility Supports on Interim Assessments Universal tools, designated supports, and accommodations are modifiable in the TA Interface for the interim assessments. Provides an opportunity to try out accessibility supports with students and actual test items and evaluate effectiveness. The Interim Assessment is the time to be aware and record the supports that do and do not work well for your students with 504s or IEPs. For the summative, all needed supports for students with educational plans need to be uploaded in TOMS before testing begins. 11
