ON-LINE CONTROLS

HYPACK SURVEY Key Commands: Key combo:Action Control – SStart Line Control – EEnd Line Control – WSwitch Line Direction Control – IIncrement to Next Line Control - DDecrement to Previous Line With these five keyboard commands, you are now a HYPACK SURVEY expert! Feel free to skip the rest of this tedious presentation.

Selecting A Planned Line Current active planned line is red (default) with arrows. MethodAction/Result Keyboard: CTRL-I Increments to the next line. Keyboard: CTRL-D Decrements to the previous line. Mouse: Right-click on Line Handle Allows user to select line. Mouse: Toolbar Icons Increment/Decrement Line Menu: Options - Navigation Parameters Enter line name or number AVI

Line Direction: What direction do we want to go? Default Line Direction Mode set under ‘Options- Navigation Parameters’: Closest point…Origin point…Terminus point…Alternate point MethodAction/Result Keyboard: CTRL-W Flips the direction of the line Mouse: Right-click on Line Handle. Click on ‘Swap’. Flips the direction of the line Menu: Line - Swap Flips the direction of the line Mouse: Toolbar Icon Flips the direction of the line AVI

Start Line: Start the Recording of Data Logging of data only occurs when you are ‘On Line’. Check the ‘Status’ in the Data Display after you start each line to verify you are ‘Logging’. MethodAction/Result Keyboard: CTRL-S Start Line Menu: File – Start Logging Start Line Mouse: Toolbar Icon Start Line Start-Line Gate Start Line AVI

Start-Line Gate: Going ‘On-Line’ and ‘Off-Line’ Automatically Set ‘Start Line Gate’ distance in Navigation Parameters window. GateAction 0 Start Line Disabled >0 (radius) Start Line when vessel breaks circle <0 ( radius ) Start Line when vessel breaks semi-circle AVI

End Line: Stop the Recording of Data  End Line terminates data logging.  The data file is ‘closed’.  SURVEY updates to the next planned line, based on the ‘Line Increment’ in the NAVIGATION PARAMETERS window. MethodAction/Result Keyboard: CTRL-E End Line Menu: File – End Logging End Line Mouse: Toolbar Icon End Line Start-Line Gate <> 0 End Line AVI

Pause Logging and Resume Logging  Pause stops the output of info to the data file.  The file is still open and navigation functions are continued.  Resume re-activates the flow of data into the data file. MethodAction/Result Keyboard: CTRL-U & CTRL-R Pause…. Resume Menu: File – Pause Logging Menu: File – Resume Logging Pause…. Resume AVI

Aborting a Line: Let’s Go Back and Do This Line Again…. Abort Logging:  Generates an immediate ‘End Line’.  The current data file is saved, however it’s name is not written to the *.LOG file.  The current active planned line remains the same. Go survey it again.

Selecting Naming Scheme Selecting Naming Scheme Project Information Window In SURVEY:  Click on ‘Options – Project Information’.  Select a naming scheme for your raw data.  At ‘Start-Line’, check the name of the new RAW data file.  Ability to add a user defined prefix or append the Julian Day to the data filename. Default

Area Map Area Map Tracking the Vessel  Four Options: Independent for each Area Map. In Center: As the vessel approaches the edge of the window, it jumps back to the edge. You can control the ‘In Center %’. The larger the number, the quicker it moves back to the edge. Look Ahead: As the vessel starts to move away from the edge of the window, it jumps back to the edge. Vessel & Target: Automatically zooms the screen as the vessel approaches the active target. No Tracking: The boat just goes off into space. All Vessels: Keeps all mobiles in Map space

Area Map Area Map Map Orientation  Three Options: User Defined Rotation: Allows you to set a fixed rotation from north. Line Up: Orients the planned line directly up the screen. Vessel Up: Keeps the vessel pointed ‘up’ the screen and rotates the world beneath it.  Each Area Map Window can have it’s own setting.

Making a New Planned Line While in HYPACK SURVEY

Anchor Handling Routines The “Boat Anchor Manager” window is accessed from the Vessels window. From this window, you can drop and raise anchors and transfer them to other mobiles (support vessels). You can also place floats on anchor wires or radius circles about dropped anchors. CNTL-Click-and-Drag on an anchor to set a “marker”. Markers are planned anchor positions before they are deployed. Upside down anchor symbols represent anchors that are “racked” (not deployed) Right-click on an anchor or marker symbol to raise/drop the anchor. AVI

Ghost Shapes in SURVEY Ghost shape at final position. Place a transparent vessel shape at the final desired position and heading using “Ghost Shape” from the Vessels menu.

Tracking Points SURVEY now allows you to have multiple tracking points on each mobile. The X-Y-Z of each tracking point is updated and the user can select the “Main” tracking point to be used at any time from the Tracking Points window (above). You can also log statistics on each tracking point to get the average position and standard deviation during rig moves.

Multiple Navigation Sensors Per Mobile HYPACK SURVEY now allows you to assign multiple navigation systems to a mobile. The Boat Multi Position window can be used to select one or multiple systems to determine the final vessel position.
