2 The surface of the moon features a huge number of impact craters The surface of the moon features a huge number of impact craters The moon has 17% of Earth’s gravity The moon has 17% of Earth’s gravity There is very little water on the moon There is very little water on the moon There is no weather on the moon There is no weather on the moon

3 The surface of the earth features many landforms such as volcanoes, islands, mountains, etc. These are caused by weathering and erosion within the atmosphere. Our planet is about 70% water Our planet is about 70% water Our atmosphere is made up of several layers--- the troposphere, the stratosphere, the mesosphere, the ionosphere, and the exosphere. This atmosphere is what creates weather Our atmosphere is made up of several layers--- the troposphere, the stratosphere, the mesosphere, the ionosphere, and the exosphere. 4 The size!! The size of the moon is about 2,000 miles long in diameter. The size of the moon is about 2,000 miles long in diameter. The size of the Earth is 7,926 miles long in diameter. And the equator is 24,901 miles long. The size of the Earth is 7,926 miles long in diameter. And the equator is 24,901 miles long.

5 Seasons! What causes seasons?: the earths orbiting and rotation causes the seasons because the sun will shine more one side of the earth than the other side this causes summer and winter on sides of the earth. 6 Tides! The moons gravity causes the ocean to bulge away from the Earth this causes low and high tides!

7 Orbit and Rotation Times The earth takes 24 hours to rotate on its axis and 365 days to revolve around the sun once. The earth takes 24 hours to rotate on its axis and 365 days to revolve around the sun once. The moon takes about 27 days to rotate on its axis and 29 days to revolve around the earth.
