Lessons Learnt You can’t predict the unpredictable There will be unforeseen system hiccups and glitches Roll with the punches You may have to modify your plans/processes as you go Different strokes for different folks Some academics will immediately love the system; some will not, but: Resistance is common to the unusual Most hesitant/resistant academics will come around to the idea after becoming familiar with My Unit Readings and its advantages Rome wasn’t built in a day It is a gradual process – it cannot be done in one go Sticks in a bundle are unbreakable TEAMWORK, TEAMWORK, TEAMWORK! “Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.” - Arnold Bennett Murdoch University Library

Loved it actually, wish all my units were on Talis.” “Speed and simplicity. Many different kinds of readings can be specified within one easy- to-use interface.” “Being able to organise reading lists into unit appropriate formats – i.e. weekly readings or modules -- this was very easy to generate and modify if necessary.” “TA is simple, effective and a worthwhile improvement.” “Easy to browse lists and information is presented clearly.
