5 Discussion topics Know the details of transcription and translation – enzymes involved, what is produced, where the process happens, etc. (about 50% of the exam). Know why the genetic ‘code’ is said to be degenerate (or redundant), and what wobble is. Know the different ways genetic expression is regulated. Know the lac operon details. In addition to the terms in Chapter 12, know how reverse transcriptase is used to make cDNA, and how this is helpful. Also, know the ten fill-in-the-blank questions for each of the three chapters.
