Confucianism: 5 Basic Relationships The five basic relationships are ruler and subject, husband and wife, father and son, older sibling and younger sibling, and friend and friend. People must respect and obey all of the basic relationships.

Confucius :Life in China Confucius lived from 551 to 479 B.C.E., in the small state of Lu in eastern China. He experience lords fight for power. Confucius respected Chinese traditions and scholars.

Confucianism: The Influence Confucianism taught “Do not do to others what you would not what done to you”. Confucianism influence people to have proper behavior.

Daoism: Laozi Laozi lived in the late 500 B.C. E. Some people think he is just a legend others disagree. According to Daoism Laozi is said to be the author of the Dao De Jing.

Daoism: Yin and Yang Yin and Yang are true harmony which comes from balancing opposite forces of nature.

Daoism: The Behavior Daoist believed that everyone must discover the Dao for themselves. Daoist also thought too many laws would get in the way of living naturally and the Dao. So the best rulers were the people who ruled less.

Legalism: Hanfeizi Hanfeizi lived from 280 to 233 B.C.E. He was the prince in a royal family. Hanfeizi wanted to create peace in his society.

Legalism: The Government Hanfeizi thought the only way to create a good society was to make harsh laws and brutal punishments. Hanfeizi believed that rulers should trust no one not even their families.

Legalism: Qin Dynasty The Qin dynasty looked up to Hanfeizi writings. To make these goals they made brutal laws and punishments. Some died from the brutal punishments.
