3. Establish strong links with academic staff Involvement of teaching staff Engage their interest early in the process Gain access to non-traditional collections Tutors as contributors as well as users

4. Consider scalability from the beginning Scalability limited by staff and other resources Limited applicability of the experimental model Interface differentiation in the Hybrid Library One size fits all?

5. Secure effective technical support - who, what,when, where & how often 6. Concentrate on resolving authentication & copyright issues 7. Devise policies on the provision of services - loans, photocopying & document delivery

9. Focus on content rather than design Subjective responses to web design Naïve users focus more on resources than appearance Good design facilitates location and retrieval of resources Northumbria - simple template enables rollout of institution-wide service
