9. Completion Route 1 The MA by Coursework Entire Route The Core Course MAE800 At least 2 Required Specialisation Courses: either MAE801 or MAE804, and either MAE802 or MAE803. At least 1 and not more than three of the Language Education Research Electives. At least 1 and not more than three of the Language Studies Electives. At least 1 and not more than two of the Classroom Applications Electives. An optional elective from any NIE programme outside the MA in Applied Linguistics programme, if participants choose to do so. The independent study course MMM800 Critical Inquiry. Participants need to complete 9 courses plus (+) MMM800 Critical Inquiry, as specified:

10. Completion Route 2 The MA by Coursework with Dissertation The Core Course MAE800. At least two Required Specialisation Courses: either MAE801 or MAE804, and either MAE802 or MAE803. At least one and not more than three of the Language Education Research Electives. At least one and not more than three of the Language Studies Electives. At least one and not more than two of the Classroom Applications Electives. The dissertation. Participants need to complete 8 courses plus (+) the dissertation, as specified:

Accreditation Participants with existing and relevant postgraduate training (eg Postgrad Diploma/MA in Applied Linguistics/Language Studies) may be eligible for accreditation from up to 4 courses. Potential for exemption based on: Coursework contents that are equivalent Grades Fill in the Accreditation Form Participants granted accreditation may seek for a personalised completion route, please consult the coordinator.

12. Add/Drop Period The first 2 weeks of the semester – add/drop. Students may attend any courses they desire. Students are free to change any course as they desire by adding or dropping (via an online system). After add/drop period, no further course changing course is allowed.
