6. Article– Dasani’s Homeless Life: Describe Auburn’s homeless shelter– how does Elliott portray the shelter? What are some struggles that Dasani must face because of her homelessness? Was anything surprising to you or not?

Different Literary Components of Life of Pi With your group, you will be assigned to one of the following: Plot development (exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution…) Conflict (man v. man, man v. self, man v. nature, man v. society) Character development and point of view (In what ways has Pi developed? Stayed the same? What specific things have caused his development? What point of view is this story told from? Why might Yann Martel choose this point of view?) Figurative language (Find examples of simile, personification, onomatopoeia, hyperbole, and metaphor and explain why Pi might use these to describe a certain situation) You will need (at minimum) 4 quotes to back up your points You will present your findings to the other groups
