In the early years, representatives of the Society would travel to various communities to spread awareness of the importance of consulting a doctor at the sign of abnormalities.

As early as the 1950s, the Society had mobile information units to spread information about cancer.

1986: Trevor Kennard from the Blue Bombers supports anti-smoking efforts.

Content from The Seven Danger Signals of Cancer publication was incorporated into the Society’s marketing tools. It was distributed to educate the public about the importance of an early diagnosis.

Dr McCulloch and Dr Till made one of Canada’s most important cancer research discoveries in 1961, paving the way for leading edge research focused on stem cells.
