4 Project Analemma “an analemma is a diagram showing the deviation of the Sun from its mean motion in the sky, as viewed from a fixed location on the Earth.” BEYOND NIGHT SKY

5 How? We have take image of sun at same time from same position after every 10 days for one year Requirement 1.Camera(Better if DSLR) 2.Small wooden setup BEYOND NIGHT SKY

6 Photometry “Photometry is the science of measuring brightness of the celestial objects” “It can be used to measure the orbital period of variable stars” BEYOND NIGHT SKY

7 How? Brightness of star can be measured by taking images of a star using a DSLR or CCD camera and then by processing by astronomical software like aperture photometry tool(APT) Requirement 1.Camera(DSLR or CCD) 2.Computerized telescope 3.Good knowledge of handling telescope and DSLR cameras. 4.Software BEYOND NIGHT SKY

9 Spectroscopy “Spectroscopy is the measure of spectrum of electromagnetic radiation, including visible light, which radiates from stars and other hot celestial objects.” “It can be used to derive chemical composition, temperature, density, mass, distance, luminosity, and relative motion using of celestial objects” BEYOND NIGHT SKY

10 How? Spectrum of celestial objects can be obtained by using spectrometer along with telescope and a camera using star analyser 100. Requirement 1.Camera(DSLR or CCD) 2.Computerized telescope 3.Good knowledge of handling telescope and DSLR cameras 4.Star analyser 100 and corresponding equipments BEYOND NIGHT SKY

12 Advantages of projects Projects will help NAC to produce scientific data which can be used by researchers. This projects will lay the foundation of more aspiring projects with collaboration with well known research institutes. In future scientific papers can be submitted by using data derived from this projects. As NAC is well endowed with the required accessories so this venture will not be expensive. BEYOND NIGHT SKY
