3 5 Themes of Geography  Movement: How and why are places connected?  Region: What binds a place together?  Human Environment Interaction: What is the relationship between the people and the environment? Environment Interaction: What is the relationship between the people and the environment?  Location: Where is it located?  Place: What is it like there?

4 Movement  How transportation and communications systems link people in one location to those in another  Roads, railroads, airports…  Ex: A river makes possible a hydroelectric power plant, which generates electricity for the town.
