Be Specific---Name functions. Never use pronouns or vague descriptions! Justifications… Be Concise and Precise---using your own words is NOT OK. Use short canned reasons/justifications on the exam. Practice Practice Practice---hold students accountable for using precise language and practice justifications throughout the year

Stations for f, f’ and f’’ 1. AP Style or Actual AP problems 2. Focused practice on specific problem types 3. Students work in groups 4. Shorts bursts of work and physical movement for engagement 5. Easy to pinpoint weaknesses for remediation, structured tutoring and/or differentiation

Activities for f, f’ and f’’ “Quiz, Quiz, Trade” Students will “create” 2-3 cards with the justifications on the back as part of a HW assignment You can go through them to make sure they are correct and reasonable Each student gets a card and finds another student in the class The first student “quizzes” the second student. Then, the second student “quizzes” the first student. The students trade cards and find another partner to repeat
