Why Clean a Bike? Your bike is not just any bike- It’s a Public Safety Response Vehicle, and it’s yours! Take pride in what you represent A clean and functioning bike is your workhorse and keeps you able to respond when it is needed most. A clean bike does not break as easily as dirty ones!!!

Get Rid of the Funk Essential components: DRIVETRAIN Chain- a dirty chain wears much faster, 5000 miles functionality to 1000 miles Cogs and Cranksets Rear and Front Derailleur Associated Cables and components Advanced parts: Bearing systems
5
Get Rid of More Funk Tires and Rims- Brake pads wear into the treads of the rims reducing braking power significantly Clean and polished tires look professional Brake cables, cable housings, and brake calipers- clean and properly lubricated brake components function better

Essentially All bike components must be cleaned regularly to keep good working order Even after a few harmless rides you will notice reduced performance After a few “dirty” rides you will have problems shifting and braking Always clean bike BEFORE repairs
