Cell: The basic unit of structure and function in all living things. Organism: A living thing Tissue: A group of cells that work together to perform a certain function. Organ: A group of tissue that work together to perform a certain function Organ system: a group of organs that work together to do a certain job for the body
4
Microorganism: an organism that is too small To be seen with the unaided eye Bacteria: A certain type of microorganism Mold: A kind of fungus Protist: a single cell or multi-cell that shares traits with plants or animals make it your self
5
THEY HELP YOU. Cells help you with everything you do like moving. If you did not have cells you couldn’t do a lot of things like move, walk, and bend things. Cells are very useful. YOU NEED THEM If you don’t have cells your body will not function right. You will not be able to do a lot of fun things you like to do for example: no sports, running, and walking. You need cells to be a normal person like yourself.
6
Single cell Single cell organism are things that only have ONE cell NOT more. Example: Algae Multi –celled Multi – celled organism Are living thing that HAVE MORE than one cell NOT just on cell. Example: Rat
7
The fun part
8
Cell are really cool If you look at cells in a microorganism. Lots of cell look cool but different. When you look at cells they look futuristic, so cool right? Look at these
9
Animal cells Animals cells are very special cells that are different than plant cells. However, some parts in animal cells are the same as the plant cells. Animal cells are bigger than plant cells. They have a lot less things going around than plant c ells.
10
PLANT CELLS Plant cells are very cool types of cells. They have more functioning parts than animal cells. They are still the same size as animal cells just more functioning. Plant cells are still pretty compact than other types of cells. They do many things cool right. The most functioning part is the nucleus!
11
THE SAME They both have a nucleus They both come in very different size and spaces. They both have something to protect the nucleus. They also both have ribosomes. DIFFERENT BUT NOT TOO MUCH Animal cells does not have as many things in it than plant cells Animal cells do not have a vacuole; plant cells do. Plant cells have cell walls; animal cells do not.
12
HARMFUL These types of microorganisms are bad. They will try to hurt you.You know how you get sick? Well that is those bad microorganisms. BENEFICIAL The beneficial microorganisms are good ones that help us not hurt us. There are many more good ones than bad ones. Yeast is a good example that makes good bread
13
Microscope A microscope is a utensil that help you see cell and microorganisms with a naked eye. You will be able to see things that are small be BIG.
