WAYS TO NARROW YOUR SEARCH Use the advanced search tool located on the right side of the search box Search by: Keywords: adding key words can help narrow your search Phrases: linking to words together Excluding terms: excluding unwanted words

NEED MORE TOOLS? You can further filter your search by file type, site, reading level Reading level: basic, intermediate or advanced reading levels File type: PowerPoint or Excel documents Search within site or domain: Narrow search to just one larger website

GOOGLE INSTANT Used to predict what you are searching for Makes searching for a topic faster and easier Can be turned off in the settings if you don’t care for it

GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH Finding and saving an image Click on images and begin your search When you find an image you would like to save, double click on the thumbnail version of the image then right click on the image and choose save image as

GOOGLE BOOK SEARCH Using ‘more links’ select books Search for books by keyword, title, author, or line from a specific book When you select a book you will see some basic information about the book, if Google has copyright permission you will be able to view the book You can then search within the book and save it to a digital library within Google Books

GOOGLE TRANSLATE INTERFACE Select your translation languages and start typing If you don’t know what language you are translating from you can select ‘detect language option’ and it will attempt to translate for you You can also translate full websites and documents Good for pen pals or foreign language students
