1. Procedures, Rules, and Consequences Ms. Russo’s Class Room 110M

2. Expectations In this class Ms. Russo has very high expectations of and for you. You are expected to: –Follow the school’s and classroom’s rules. –Complete all your assignments. Journals, Class work, Homework, Projects etc. –Complete and turn in your assignments on the DUE DATES. –Do everything to the best of your ability.

3. Materials One Subject Spiral Notebook 1 inch Binder- may be shared with other classes so long as this class is separated (4 Dividers). –Cornell Notes –Vocabulary (Can be done in a Composition Book) –Class work –Homework Paper Pen Pencil Colored Pencils Scissors Construction Paper

4. Procedures Beginning of class. –Walk in quietly. –Take out any assignments that are due. –Take out your vocabulary sheet and begin to work on the days vocabulary. –Once you’re done close sit quietly or take out a book and read (you may read the textbook).

5. Procedures During Lesson: –Listen quietly. –Raise your hand when you have a question or a comment. If you have to throw away paper keep it until the end of class. Do not throw it from your desk and do not get up to throw it away. –Take Cornell Notes on the material being taught. –Once instruction is over complete all assignments assigned. End of Class: –Pack your bags quietly. –Make sure that you have your corresponding book underneath your chair. ONLY ONE book under your chair. –Throw away any papers around your desk. –Organize your row or groups. –Sit quietly until Ms. Russo dismisses you. THE BELL DOES NOT DIMISS YOU!

6. Procedures Make Up Work: –If you are absent bring your admit and give it to your homeroom teacher. –Once you receive the admit back bring it to Ms. Russo and collect your make up work from a friend, from Ms. Russo, or from the internet if it is posted. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GATHER AND COMPLETE YOUR MAKE UP WORK. –You have TWO days to complete and turn in any make up work. –Any assignments that you miss will have an automatic ZERO= FF in the grade book until Ms. Russo receives an admit and/or the make up work within the 2 days.

7. Procedures Late Assignments: –Ms. Russo DOES NOT accept late assignments! Unless you have been absent and have presented an admit. Extra Credit: –There is no special extra credit. If extra credit is ever assigned it is for the entire class.

8. Procedures Notes: –Ms. Russo will post the notes prior to class. Print them out and bring them to class. To save ink print them out in the Outline format. –During class fill in any unanswered questions and take additional notes.

9. Procedures LUNCH B Lunch Drop Off: –Line up ABSOLUTELY QUIET! –There will ONLY be ONE line. When in line you may only walk on the two tiles that Ms. Russo assigns you. –The straight and QUIET line will remain so all the way to the H building cafeteria.

10. Procedures LUNCH B Lunch Pick Up: –Once Ms. Russo’s name is called throw away your food immediately. –Line up hall way on the two tiles as indicated. –NO ONE can be late! Anyone late from lunch will receive an automatic DETENTION.

11. Procedures LUNCH B Lunch: –If these procedures are broken you may face the loss of lunch privileges and other disciplinary consequences.

12. Procedures Fire Drill: –Quickly line up in the front of the class. –Walk out into the hall and make a right QUIETLY. –Line up in one line against the right side of the wall on two tiles only. –WALK, do not run towards the end of the hall and exit through the stair well. –Follow Ms. Russo onto the field and line up were she indicates (at least 30 yards away from the school). –Listen for your name as Ms. Russo takes attendance.

13. Procedures What does it mean when Ms. Russo raises her hand? This means the class has gotten too loud and Ms. Russo wants you to stop talking and pay attention to her. Why raised hand? This means you are giving Ms. Russo 2 eyes looking, 2 ears listening, and 1 mouth closed.

14. Procedures What do I do when I see Ms. Russo raise her hand? Raise your hand to acknowledge her request. If you do not stop you will face disciplinary consequences.

15. Procedures Bathroom You may use the bathroom twice a week. Raise you hand. Please do not make an announcement of your need to use the restroom. Simply whisper it and Ms. Russo will read your lips. If you are given permission to use the restroom sign the bathroom log and go to the nearest bathroom which happens to be in front of our room. If that bathroom is closed notify Ms. Russo

16. Rules Come to class on time. No Electronic devices. Respect others so that you may be respected. Raise you hand. –Do not raise you hand and then begin to talk. –NO RANDOM CONVERSATIONS in the middle of class. You may chew gum in this class. –However, you cannot make it obvious that you are chewing gum. If you do everyone must throw their gum out. By popping it Chewing like a cow Playing with your gum You cannot eat in class.

17. Rules Do not get out of your seat. You may whisper so long as you are not disruptive and Ms. Russo cannot hear you. Respect your peers, their space, and their things.

18. Consequences All the consequences depend on the offense. Ms. Russo reserves the right to use any of the consequences when deemed necessary. –1 st Offense- student will receive a verbal warning by Ms. Russo. –2 nd Offense- student will be given a note to be take home stating the nature of the offense (as it relates to the Code of Student Conduct) to be signed by parent and returned the next day. –3 rd Offense- Ms. Russo will request a Parent/Teacher Conference (either at school or over the phone). –4 th Offense- Student will receive a detention. –5 th Offense- Student will be referred to the administration for further discipline measures.

19. Consequences Ms. Russo reserves the right to have YOU call your PARENTS during class so that she can speak to them on the spot without warning.
