Layer2= private Ethernet, NCN – multi-party, plug in at Ethernet level, host transparent; implemented in hardware/firmware/combination, in router? Dynamic setup? [real Ethernet vs virtual Ethernet]. Layer1= optical circuit, hard-wired – simulated using MPLS; dynamic setup via DCN, Dragon, UCLP, etc. 14
