What do teacher leaders do??
According to ASCD (Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) there are ten roles for teacher leaders: Resource Provider Instructional Specialist Curriculum Specialist Classroom Specialist Learning Facilitator Mentor School Leader Data Coach Catalyst for Change Learner In their research, Katzenmeyer and Moller (2001) described a survey by Hewitt-Gervais (1996) that asked teacher leaders to name their various roles. During the first year of administration, the survey results yielded 167 different teacher leader roles. This number increased to 182 roles the following year.

Instructional leadership means sharing great teaching.
Policy leadership requires teachers to take active role in the shaping and implementation of educational policy. Association leadership refers to the act of leading critical groups towards desired change.
