What is it? An eye condition characterized by irregular curvature of the cornea

What causes it? Caused by the lens and cornea not being perfectly symmetrical The cornea or lens have an irregular shap such a the shape of a football Can ne hereditary Also caused by bad posture & increased use of the eye

Effects of Astigmatisms Loss of focus Causes difference of power in eye along the meridians

Astigmatisms Anyone can have them Mild astigmatisms may have no symptoms More severe symptoms include: Headaches Eye strain or fatigue Squinting Blurred vision at all distances Holding reading material closer than normal

Treatment Astigmatisms can be treated with glasses or contacts No treatment is needed for many mild astigmatisms
