Spans two continents.  Majority of population lives on European side, but the majority of Russia’s land is in Asia.  Siberia- area in Northeastern Russia- cold climate with forests  Northernmost Russia is tundra- frozen desert where even the ground is frozen most of the year.

15.  Most of Russia has long, cold winters and short mild summers.  Subarctic- cool humid summers, with long cold winters, ½ the land covered in snow for 6 months, the other ½ has permafrost.  Tundra- gets as low as -90° F.  Deserts get as hot as 120° F.
