1. Sowing Seeds: The Babyfather Initiative Manchester. The Babyfather Initiative is part of a part of a national project working with African Caribbean men exploring issues of Men, Masculinity & Fatherhood plus barriers to effective parenting & relationships. Sowing Seeds are a not for profit organisation taking the work forward in the Manchester area. We have held 5 workshops and the feedback had been promising.

2. Issues addressed during the workshops. Influence of Fathering Relationships with others. What do we bring to fatherhood. How do we engage in relationships with others.

3. Acknowledgement & Acceptance of Responsibility This take the form of owning all thoughts, feelings and actions taken to achieve desired results. E.g feeling joyous and thinking about spending some money on the children.

4. Being Heard This entails feeling the experience and understanding what this means for the individual. Also being able to express what is actually going on without having to censor the self.

5. Taking the Initiative for Change Accepting the challenge of changing your own internal thoughts & feelings so actions will change in response to different situations.
