Warm-Up. Why do you think Nations trade?

Objectives Students will: Understand the nature of trade and why nations trade. Understand how trade impacts products available in their country.

Required reading/handouts Before beginning the lesson, read the Introduction and Part 1 of the student text (pages 1-12) and complete the study guide Intro and part 1. Handouts… Trade quiz. Apparel data

Classwork Each student will get a copy of the “Trade Quiz” and we will go over the questions together. Also discuss answers. **If you have questions, ASK THEM. Share your opinions! THEN*********************************** Each student will get an “Apparel Data” handout and get into small groups. (no more than 4). Once that is done, check the labels in each others clothes to see where they were made. After everyone knows where their clothes were made, get a sticky note and place it on the map in the country where your clothes were made. ***Where did most of the clothes come from? Why? What impact has trade had on this country? On the countries where the clothes are made?
