Sequence Curation: Adding an Additional Track to the Genome Browser dictyBase is populated with many different sources of data: gene predictions, Genbank records, cDNA projects. To represent this diverse and sometimes conflicting data we display the different sequence types on separate tracks in our Genome Browser. Previously, loci that had both a computer-generated gene model (from the Sequencing Center) and a Genbank record (from individual investigators) associated, showed the track for the gene model only. Now we show separate tracks for the gene model from the Sequencing Center and a ‘verified track’, which comes from manual entries by dictyBase curators based on all available information.
