Technique: Provides support, challenge, and vision through coaching, counseling, and supporting reflective problem-solving. Duration: Described as a journey because the relationship unfolds over an extended period of time.

Mentors SHOULD Have reasonable expectations from the buddy Be a resource and provide honest and respectful feedback Allocate time and energy Help the mentee develop an appropriate development plan SHOULD NOT Dominate the relationship Seek out a buddy Do the work for the buddy
