SETTING Setting: is the time and place, in which the story events happen. a)The setting is crucial to what characters think and do. Real life environments have effects on thoughts and actions b)The setting can be as dynamic and lively as characters are c)Setting utilizes sensory (5 senses) perceptions and observations (Imagery)

SETTING MODEL Describe Setting: Describe the picture for someone who has not seen it - A visual of the story setting What sounds do you hear? - Natural Sounds? - Man-made sounds? - Are some sounds louder than others? - Do any of the sounds remind you of something else? - Are there sounds you cannot identify? Are there any smells? - Pleasant? Unpleasant? Familiar? Mysterious? What would it be like to become part of the picture? - Where in the picture would you be located? - What would you be doing? -Is there anything you could touch? Taste? -How do you feel?
