IPMATPMAT Meiosis includes Prophase II, Metaphase II, Anaphase II, and Telophase II.
4
Meiosis produces 4 haploid cells known as gametes. Each gamete is UNIQUE and will be used for sexual reproduction. Remember, the haploid number of chromosomes for humans is 23 (n = 23)
5
Meiosis reduces the chromosome number to one set. Fertilization restores the diploid number when the gametes are combined. In sexual reproduction, two individuals (parents) contribute genes to the offspring. This form of reproduction results in greater genetic variation in the offspring than asexual reproduction.
6
Meiosis in females is called oogenesis produces 1 egg (ovum) and three polar bodies All three polar bodies will die. This is an uneven division of the cytoplasm.

8
Meiosis in males is called spermatogenesis. Produces 4 sperm cells. This is an even division of the cytoplasm.

10
Crossing Over: portions of a chromatid on one homologous chromosome are broken and exchanged with corresponding chromatid portions of the other homologous chromosome. This increases genetic variation.
