Joseph Frucht-Pery, MD, Faik Orucov, MD*, David Landau, MD, Eyal Strassman, MD, Abraham Solomon, MD Department of Ophthalmology, Hadassah University Hospital; School of Medicine – Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel
2
PURPOSE To compare visual outcome of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) and photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) in fellow eyes. VS LASIK
3
METHODS 50 myopic patients who underwent LASIK in one eye and PRK in the fellow eye. DECISION FOR PRK: when we couldn't do LASIK: - I-S ratio greater than 1.4 - Residual stromal bed ≤ 250μ - CCT ≤ 470μ Minimum F/U 6 months. VS LASIK

RESULTS VS LASIK POSTOPERATIVE UCVA Postoperative UCVA ≥20/40; 100% in LASIK, 92% in PRK ≥20/20;74% in LASIK, 66% in PRK
