A goal is anything that a person sets out to accomplish – a conscious aim that requires planning

A short-term goal is one that you want to accomplish soon A long-term goal is something you plan to accomplish sometime farther out in the future

A fixed goal is one that can be met only at a certain time i.e. “go to college” A flexible goal has no definite time limit i.e. “get a car”

To decide which needs and wants are more important than others

Human – your own skills, your time, and other people Material – money, tools, and equipment Community – community facilities, learning opportunities, and services Natural –Non-renewable (once oil is used up, it is gone forever)

Determination helps people aggressively identify goals and seek resources that will help them meet those goals.
